Gingerbread (for gingerbread men, houses, sleighs etc).
2 Cups of Butter or margarine
2 Cups of Golden Syrup
2 Cups of Sugar
4 Tablespoons Vinegar
10 Cups of Plain Flour
2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
2 Tablespoons Ginger
3 Teaspoons Bicarbonate of Soda
Heat butter, syrup, sugar and vinegar until dissolved. Stir occasionally.
Remove from heat and allow to stand and cool (approx 10-20) mins
Add eggs and beat with a wooden spoon.
Add remaining dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Allow the dough to chill for a couple of hours
Roll dough onto a floured surface, approx 6mm thick
Cut out shapes
Place on greased trays
Bake 180C for approx 15 mins.
